Let’s talk about suicide



Suicide is the crucial topic throughout the world that doesn’t rely on specific sex, age and religion.As per WHO nearly 8 lakh people commits suicide, i.e. one in every 40 seconds. The distinct reason for suicide cases has demonstrated the wider range of its possibility in future too. Yet it is preventable “A little awareness and preventive majors would help”. The myth behind suicide is wide spread thus truth should be revealed. The myth is its certain people/ group of people who commits suicide. Those who commits suicide are  the one with low confidence level, its limited to young and adult, done in the hit of the moment &to drag others attention.

Remember!

There is always an ear to listen you

There is a medium that followswith a solution.

And suicide is not an option, it’s a crime.

What to do?

► Talk and share your feelings with the person of trust.-“Problem shared is half solved

► Engage yourself in creative work and participate in social function.–“Channelizes your thought process”

► Self-care. – “You deserve it

► Listen to the person with suicidal symptoms. -“It allows them to ventilate”

► Reach to the expert (counselor, psychiatrist) immediately. -“Don’t wait earlier is best

What not to do?

► Isolate and keep things to self. “It won’t help it spreads like a virus throughout your body”

► Neglect person who repeatedly talk about suicidal ideation.

Whom/Where to reach?

► Person you trust (friends, family)

► Expert (counselor, psychiatrist)

► Medication regularly if prescribed by psychiatrist.

Who can help?

► You yourself by sharing.

► Mental health workeravailable with awareness and preventive majors.

► Friends and family to reach out to the person in need.

► Media to cover range of people with relevant information.

► Government with strong plan and policies prioritizing mental health.

Unrelenting low mood
Pessimism
Hopelessness
Desperation
Anxiety, psychic pain, inner tension
Withdrawal
Substance abuse & frequent alcohol consumption
Isolating self from others.
Sleepless for months
Planning for suicide
Recent impulsiveness and taking unnecessary risks
Threatening suicide or expressing strong wish to die
Giving away prized possessions
Purchasing a firearm, poison.
Unexpected rage or anger

World Suicide Prevention Day is celebrated on September 10 every year.
